Dr. Donsbach was arrested and taken to jail by San Diego Police on Thursday, April 9, 2009. Dr. Donsbach was doing his weekly internet radio show when he was taken into custody. San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis accused Dr. Donsbach of practicing medicine without a license and of prescribing natural treatments for illnesses that caused harm to patients.
Dr. Donsbach was charged with 11 felonies and faces up to six years in state prison. Federal agents from the FDA were investigating charges that vitamin supplements from Dr. Donsbach's manufacturing facility had shipped a batch of contaminated tumeric based supplements to Europe.
Dr. Donsbach has been released from custody on bail. He appreciates everyones kind words of support and encouragement.
